The Clinical Affairs website provides policies, explanations, tools and links to related information for clinical (MD) faculty University appointments:

1. Key policies and procedures:

The Policy for Clinical Faculty sets out relationships among physicians, the University and Hospitals generally; and mandates rights of clinical (MD) faculty to academic freedom and fair treatment.

The Procedures Manual for Policy for Clinical Faculty describes in detail the responsibilities, structures and processes that enable rights and promote scholarly achievement.

2. Explanation:

The Guide to Clinical (MD) Part-time and Adjunct Appointments at University of Toronto is written for community physician preceptors, but applies to all clinical (MD) appointments.

3. Appointment Application Tools for Clinical Part-time and Adjunct Faculty

To apply for a clinical part-time or adjunct faculty appointment, please follow the steps and use the appointment tools provided below:

 

a) Complete the fields on the Application form and checklist  for which you are responsible and then print

b) CV: the Standard Faculty of Medicine CV is preferred; however a condensed version or any style currently used by the physician will be accepted. For further details, please see Guide to Clinical (MD) Part-time and Adjunct Appointments at University of Toronto, p. 5

c) CPSO Certificate of Professional Conduct (obtain a photocopy from the Hospital Medical Education or Medical Affairs Office)

d) Recommendation letter (template provided)

e) Academic job description (template provided)

f) If you are applying to the Department of Family and Community Medicine, please complete and attach to the above documents the Professional Development Plan

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

4. When you have completed the above documents, you may either scan and email them or fax them to the business officer or appointment coordinator of the department to which you are applying.
