56th Annual Ophthalmology Update: Walter Wright Symposium

This unique annual ophthalmology update course will review all core aspects of the management of retinal conditions encountered in a comprehensive clinical practice setting.

World renowned experts will update participants on the diagnosis and treatment of common retinal disorders including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, diabetic macular edema, and retinal vein occlusions. A plenary session will provide an up-to-date review on retinal imaging with a strong emphasis on macular OCT interpretation. Participants will be updated with what the primary care provider needs to know about modern retinal surgery, including the essentials of the management of dropped lenses, endophthalmitis and retinal detachment. Additionally, a debate on the utility of AREDS vitamins will be presented.

Many sessions will feature case presentations which will underscore the management of both routine and challenging retina cases. Participants will be able to identify masqueraders of AMD, and understand the approach to diagnosing and treating posterior uveitis. ln addition, the conference will also provide a review of novel retinal treatments on the horizon, including stem cell therapy, which are promising the shape the future of retina.
